60 x 90 cm rugs

A 60 x 90 cm rug is a small-sized rug that works great as an accent in entryways, hallways, bedrooms, and compact living spaces. Best for small to medium rooms or tight corners, it’s perfect as a bedside rug, in front of a desk or small seating area, or to define a specific zone in a studio apartment or small living room.

Choosing a 60 x 90 rug

A 60 x 90 rug earns its place by doing one job well, not by covering a floor. It’s the size to reach for when you want to protect or define a specific spot – the patch by a bed, the scuff zone in front of a desk chair, or a doorstep that takes the brunt of wet shoes – without paying for, lifting, or hoovering more rug than you actually need. It’s light enough to shake out, spot-clean, or move to another room in seconds, which makes it a practical choice for renters, small flats, or anywhere you want to swap the look without much cost or commitment. Because it’s small, it also layers neatly on bare floor or on top of a larger rug, letting you add colour or softness to one corner without redoing the whole room.

Frequently asked questions

A 60 x 90 cm rug measures roughly 2 x 3 ft, or about 24 x 35 in. It’s one of our smallest sizes, best used to define a small spot rather than to cover a whole room.

60 x 90 cm rugs work best as accents rather than a room’s main rug – think a bedside mat, a rug by the front door, in front of a desk or armchair, or a small hallway runner. For full room coverage, our medium and large rugs give you more to work with.

Not on its own. It’s too small to sit under or around a bed, sofa or dining table. As a bedside accent next to a single or double bed, or as a doorway mat, the 60 x 90 size works well – but for a full bedroom or living room floor, look at a larger size instead.

Cotton is light, easy to lift and shake out, and a practical choice for a hallway or entrance. A 60 x 90 jute rug brings a natural, textured look and suits a low-traffic accent spot. Wool is more durable and naturally stain-resistant, so it holds up well by a bed or desk. Hand-knotted wool or silk rugs in 60 x 90 are the most hard-wearing and make a considered piece if you want something special in a small space.
