Light Nomad Kilim: A fusion of Nordic design and nomadic craft

For the first time, we’ve provided dyed wool to Ghashghai nomads, allowing them to weave their traditional Kilims in a new range of light colours. The result is a limited collection of rugs that blend a modern Nordic tone with the soul of their original craftsmanship, inspired by Scandinavian design.

Kilim rugs are known for their distinctive geometric symbols and bold motifs. They are woven using a flat-weave technique, most commonly with wool, where the yarn is tightly interlaced to create intricate, strong patterns.

What makes these rugs unique? A blend of tradition and innovation

Each rug is handwoven by Ghashghai nomads, who were given complete creative freedom in the design process. While our design team developed the colour palette, the nomads brought each rug to life with their artistry, resulting in one-of-a-kind creations you won’t find anywhere else. The blend of traditional techniques with modern colours creates a rare fusion of old and new, offering a unique opportunity to own a genuinely special rug.

The comfort of Light Nomad Kilim: Soft yet functional

Kilim rugs are known for their vibrant colours and sturdy construction. While the flat-weave technique makes them highly resilient, some Kilims are softer than others, depending on their thickness. Wool is often used, giving these rugs a luxurious yet practical feel. Our Light Nomad Kilims offer the perfect balance of comfort and lasting beauty.

Our Light Nomad Kilims are more than just rugs—they are works of art with a story to tell.
