A large black rug measures between 230 and 349 cm on its longest side. At Rugvista, popular large black sizes include 160 x 230 cm and 200 x 300 cm, plus 240 x 240 cm and 250 x 250 cm squares. If you need something bigger, see our extra large black rugs.

Not necessarily – it depends on the room. In a light, airy space with pale walls and floors, a large black rug reads as a bold anchor rather than making the room feel cramped. In a smaller or already dark room, a big black rug with a pattern or lighter secondary colour, or a mid-tone charcoal instead of true black, will usually feel more balanced than a solid black rug.

Large black rugs generally suit medium-to-large living rooms (roughly 3 x 4 m and up), double and king-size bedrooms, and dining rooms seating four to six. Because black is a strong colour, it tends to work best when the rest of the room has some light, neutral surfaces to balance it – pale walls, light flooring, or lighter furniture.

Yes – alongside rectangular sizes, this range includes 240 x 240 cm and 250 x 250 cm squares and round shapes from Ø 240 cm, so you’re not limited to a standard rectangle if your room or furniture layout calls for something different.
