This rug is designed to be a versatile addition to your home, featuring a scalloped edge that adds a gentle, playful character to its classic round shape. Its construction ensures it is durable enough for everyday use while maintaining a clean, minimalist aesthetic that works well in various rooms, from a quiet reading corner to a sunny living area.

For your convenience, this piece is fully compatible with underfloor heating, allowing you to enjoy its natural charm without compromising on warmth during colder months. The use of Jute as the primary material highlights our commitment to natural, sustainable choices that age gracefully over time.

Hand-woven in India, this rug reflects a tradition of craft that prioritises both beauty and utility. By choosing this piece, you are bringing home a thoughtfully made item that bridges the gap between simple, natural materials and modern home design.

Design

The design of this rug focuses on the beauty of natural materials and simple, organic shapes. The circular form is enhanced by a decorative scalloped edge, which softens the overall look and adds a touch of interest to the floor.

With its warm, neutral beige tone, this rug blends seamlessly into any interior. The natural variations in the Jute fibres provide a subtle, textured pattern that feels both timeless and grounded, perfect for creating a relaxed atmosphere.

Each Sway rug is carefully hand-woven by skilled artisans in India. The process begins by preparing the natural Jute fibres, which are then meticulously guided through the loom to create the consistent, circular structure. This labour-intensive method ensures that every rug has its own subtle character and lasting integrity.

Creating a piece of this size and complexity requires significant time and focus. Our weavers spend many hours ensuring the tension is balanced perfectly, which results in a sturdy, well-formed rug that maintains its shape. This human touch is what gives the rug its unique personality and ensures it stands up to the demands of a busy home.

The scalloped border requires extra precision during the weaving phase, as artisans must carefully shape the edges to achieve the signature look. This level of attention to detail is only possible through manual craft, making each piece a testament to the skill and dedication of the individuals behind its creation.

90% Jute

Jute is a natural material that consists of a long, soft and shiny plant fibre that can be spun into coarse and strong threads. Jute rugs are known for their natural texture, which makes them durable and highly resistant to wear and tear. They also have a higher sound insulation effect than for example synthetic rugs. Jute rugs are a sustainable option since they can be recycled and are biodegradable. The material is sensitive to moisture, therefore jute rugs should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.

10% Polyester

Polyester is a popular synthetic fibre used in the textile industry thanks to its durability, lightness, and resistance to stains and moisture. Polyester rugs are typically durable, making them suitable for high-traffic areas. They have a nice sheen that gives a luxurious and soft impression to the room.

Care & Fair

We are proud to be part of the organization CARE & FAIR. Their mission is to improve the living conditions of carpet weavers in India and their families through education and health

Maintenance

To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
The rug can bleach or change colour if exposed to direct sunlight; therefore, it is important to avoid placing the rugs in direct sunlight.
The rugs are sensitive to moisture, therefore they should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.
Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this

Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.

Avoid this

Do not wash
Do not bleach.
Do not tumble dry.
