Stray - A Soft Haven For Your Feet

Bring cosy warmth and tactile depth to your floors with a wool rug featuring soft high and low pile contours.
Introduce a comforting layer of warmth and texture to your living space with this thoughtfully crafted wool rug.
Designed to enrich your home environment, it offers a deeply tactile surface that invites bare feet and creates a genuinely cosy atmosphere in bedrooms and sitting areas alike.
Made from 100% wool, this rug brings natural resilience and softness underfoot while helping to absorb sound and insulate your rooms.
The thick pile creates a welcoming foundation that feels reassuringly solid and comfortable for daily living.
Crafted in India by skilled artisans, the piece reflects traditional hand-tufting techniques passed down through generations.
This careful human effort ensures each rug possesses its own distinct character and lasting quality.
Practicality is built into the design with full compatibility for underfloor heating systems, allowing warmth to pass through freely.
Certified by Care & Fair, your purchase actively supports better working and living conditions for weavers and their families.

Design

The visual composition features a series of sweeping, organic lines that meander gently across the surface.
By alternating between high and low pile heights, the design creates a subtle carved effect that plays with light and shadow without relying on contrasting colours.
Rendered in a solid brown tone, the design feels grounded and calm, suiting modern interiors that lean towards natural materials and tactile simplicity.
The tone-on-tone palette introduces a quiet depth that complements wooden furniture and soft textiles.
This rug is meticulously handmade using a table tufting technique, requiring skilled artisans to hand-insert loops of wool yarn into the cotton backing according to the design pattern.
This demanding craft process calls for immense precision and steady patience.
Creating a piece of this scale takes dedicated time, with artisans spending many hours shaping the high and low pile contours.
This human touch ensures a density and depth that machine methods simply cannot replicate, resulting in a durable rug made to be cherished for years.

65% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

30% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

3% Polyester

Polyester is a popular synthetic fibre used in the textile industry thanks to its durability, lightness, and resistance to stains and moisture. Polyester rugs are typically durable, making them suitable for high-traffic areas. They have a nice sheen that gives a luxurious and soft impression to the room.

2% Viscose

Viscose is a synthetic fibre made from cellulose, which is a natural material found in plants. The material is often used to give a shine to rugs and to highlight details in a way that is found in silk rugs. Viscose rugs have a soft and beautiful shine that gives a luxurious feeling. The material is sensitive to liquids, which means that moisture can cause stains, shrink or make the fibres yellow. Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Cleaning instructions

Do this
  • Spot clean only.
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
