Moderna Flat - A Warm Touch for Your Home

Bring a calm and balanced atmosphere to your room with this hand woven rug, featuring clean lines and a subtle, warm design that feels right at home in any space.

The Moderna Flat rug offers an understated aesthetic that anchors your living space with a sense of calm. Crafted from soft, natural Wool, this piece provides a tactile experience that feels gentle underfoot while helping to absorb sound, making your room feel more peaceful.

Designed for versatility, this rug is compatible with underfloor heating, allowing you to enjoy a cosy environment throughout the colder months. Its low profile ensures it sits neatly beneath furniture, making it a practical choice for high-traffic areas where functionality is as important as style.

Our commitment to quality means this rug is produced with care, ensuring a durable finish that stands up to daily life. The use of natural materials creates a breathable foundation that brings an organic, grounded feel to your interior decor.

As part of our Core collection, this rug reflects a dedication to honest design and reliable craftsmanship. Originating from India, it carries a legacy of skilled artistry that ensures each piece is finished to a high standard, providing you with a reliable and beautiful addition to your home.

Design

The design features a clean, single-coloured surface in a soft beige tone that creates a neutral base for any room. A bold, vibrant yellow border provides a sharp and intentional contrast, adding a lively element without overwhelming the space.

Its minimalistic approach focuses on the beauty of the weave and the interplay of colour. The simple, balanced layout makes it an adaptable choice for modern interiors that value clarity and functional beauty.

This rug is carefully hand woven by skilled artisans in India. This traditional method involves interlacing threads on a loom, a labour-intensive process that requires patience and a keen eye for detail to achieve a consistent and smooth finish across the entire piece.

Because each rug is made by hand, the creation of a single piece can take several days of focused work. This commitment to human effort and skill ensures that every rug has a unique character and a level of durability that machine-made alternatives simply cannot replicate.

By choosing a hand woven rug, you are supporting a craft tradition that prioritises long-term quality and intentional construction. The time invested in the weaving process results in a well-balanced piece that maintains its shape and appearance over years of use.

85% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

15% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Maintenance

To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.
