Handloom Fringes - A Quiet Depth

Bring a sense of calm and grounding comfort to your hallway or narrow spaces with this beautifully textured dark blue runner.
This dark blue runner offers a welcoming feel underfoot, making it a thoughtful addition to busy transitional spaces like hallways or entryways. Its dense pile provides a soft, cushioning layer that brings immediate warmth and comfort to your daily steps.
Designed with practical living in mind, this runner is fully compatible with underfloor heating, ensuring your floors remain cosy during colder seasons. The low-profile construction allows doors to glide open easily, making placement simple and hassle-free.
Crafted by hand in India, each piece carries the subtle variations that make handmade items special. The ends are finished with neat, short fringes that add a classic touch to the overall clean look, framing the runner beautifully on your floor.

Design

The design focuses on simplicity and depth, featuring a single-coloured dark blue field that brings a calm, grounding presence to any room. Without distracting patterns, the focus shifts to the rich texture and the subtle tonal shifts that catch the light as you walk across it.
Short, contrasting fringes finish the ends, adding a touch of traditional detail to an otherwise contemporary look. This combination makes the runner highly versatile, fitting easily into modern or minimalist interiors where clean lines and deep, soothing colours are appreciated.
This runner is crafted using the traditional handloom technique, a skilled method of weaving that requires patience and precision. Artisans work on manual looms, carefully interlacing the threads to create a dense and even pile.
The handloom process ensures a sturdy construction that stands up well to daily use. Because each step is guided by human hands, the finished piece possesses a unique character and depth that machine-made alternatives cannot replicate.
Creating a runner of this length on a handloom takes several days of dedicated work. This time-honoured craft supports local weaving communities in India, keeping traditional skills alive while producing a beautiful piece for your home.

80% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

10% Polyester

Polyester is a popular synthetic fibre used in the textile industry thanks to its durability, lightness, and resistance to stains and moisture. Polyester rugs are typically durable, making them suitable for high-traffic areas. They have a nice sheen that gives a luxurious and soft impression to the room.

10% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

We are proud to be part of the organization CARE & FAIR. Their mission is to improve the living conditions of carpet weavers in India and their families through education and health

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • Avoid hoovering directly over the fringes, as the suction and brushes can catch the threads and cause damage.
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
  • To clean the fringes, use a soft brush to get the debris out.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
