Solista Plain Jute - Ground Your Hallway in Natural Texture

Bring organic warmth and tactile comfort to your hallway with this handcrafted natural jute runner.
Introduce a grounded, earthy feel to your hallway with this handcrafted runner made entirely from natural jute.
The rich fibrous texture offers a wonderful tactile experience underfoot while bringing a welcoming sense of calm to high-traffic transitional spaces.
Jute is a robust plant fibre known for its strength and resilience, making it a sensible choice for areas where people frequently walk.
The dense weave absorbs sound effectively, helping to create a quieter and more peaceful home environment.
Designed for modern living, this piece is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems.
You can enjoy cosy warmth beneath your feet even during colder months without compromising the integrity of the natural fibres.
Crafted in India by skilled artisans, this runner meets strict ethical and safety standards.
It carries the Care & Fair label, ensuring fair working conditions and support for weaver communities, alongside OEKO-TEX certification for complete peace of mind regarding harmful substances.

Design

This runner features a clean, unadorned surface that lets the natural qualities of the plant fibre take centre stage.
The flat weave construction highlights the subtle variations in tone naturally present in the material, creating a quiet rhythm of horizontal lines across the length of the piece.
The warm beige palette works effortlessly with wooden floors and neutral interiors, lending an understated, organic character to hallways and corridors.
Subtle fringed ends add a soft, traditional finish to the minimalist composition.
This runner is carefully hand woven on traditional looms by skilled artisans in India.
Transforming raw natural jute fibres into a unified, durable textile requires patience, steady rhythm, and years of specialised craft knowledge.
A piece of this length and density takes several days of focused human effort to complete.
The artisan must maintain consistent tension throughout the weaving process to ensure the surface remains even and straight from end to end.
Finishing touches include securing the ends and smoothing the natural fibres to create a neat, reliable floor covering.
This human-led production approach means every runner carries subtle individual character that machine-made alternatives simply cannot replicate.

100% Jute

Jute is a natural material that consists of a long, soft and shiny plant fibre that can be spun into coarse and strong threads. Jute rugs are known for their natural texture, which makes them durable and highly resistant to wear and tear. They also have a higher sound insulation effect than for example synthetic rugs. Jute rugs are a sustainable option since they can be recycled and are biodegradable. The material is sensitive to moisture, therefore jute rugs should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.

Care & Fair

We are proud to be part of the organization CARE & FAIR. Their mission is to improve the living conditions of carpet weavers in India and their families through education and health

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • Avoid hoovering directly over the fringes, as the suction and brushes can catch the threads and cause damage.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • The rug can bleach or change colour if exposed to direct sunlight; therefore, it is important to avoid placing the rugs in direct sunlight.
  • The rugs are sensitive to moisture, therefore they should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this
  • Make sure the rug is completely dry before placing it back on the floor.
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
