Rudbar rugs originate from the northern regions of the Middle East, a mountainous area known for its distinct weaving traditions. These rugs are deeply connected to the local landscape, often reflecting the natural colours and geometric sensibilities of the tribes and villages that call this region home.

The term Rudbar refers to the specific provenance of these rugs, which are celebrated for their sturdy construction and bold, clear designs. These pieces often feature a foundation that provides a stable base for the pile, allowing the intricate motifs to remain sharp and well-defined even after years of daily use.

Visually, Rudbar rugs are characterised by their strong geometric language, frequently utilising diamond-shaped medallions and floral motifs that are framed by ornate, decorative borders. The colours are often vibrant yet harmonious, designed to stand out while integrating seamlessly into a home's decor.

Collectors value these rugs not only for their durability but for the cultural narrative woven into every thread. Owning a Rudbar piece is an opportunity to connect with a long-standing tradition of craftsmanship, where skill is passed down through generations to create floor coverings that possess a genuine sense of history and soul.

This runner is entirely hand-knotted, a traditional process that relies on the skill and steady hands of an artisan. By individually tying each knot, the weaver builds a structure that is both dense and highly durable, ensuring the rug maintains its form and beauty over many years of use.

With a weight of 8.3 kg, the substantial nature of this piece is evident. This density is the result of using quality materials and a rigorous, time-intensive construction process. The weight serves as a hallmark of a well-made rug, indicating that a significant amount of material and human effort was invested to ensure the final product is robust and long-lasting.
