Dark yellow / YellowRunner78 x 389 cm

Nain rugs originate from the town of Nain in the central part of the Middle East, a region historically famous for its production of high-quality textiles. While the area was once known primarily for fine wool cloaks, the local weavers eventually transitioned their exceptional skills to the creation of world-class rugs in the early 20th century.

The craftsmanship found in these pieces is defined by a dedication to precision. Weavers in this tradition are renowned for their ability to execute complex, curvilinear designs with a level of accuracy that is rarely matched. This technical mastery ensures that the final product is both durable and visually harmonious.

The design language of a typical piece from this region often features a central medallion surrounded by a sophisticated field of arabesques and floral sprays. The colour palette is famously elegant, often utilising soft ivory, cream, and various shades of blue to create a sense of understated luxury that has become the hallmark of the style.

Collectors value these rugs for their balance of artistic vision and functional longevity. Owning one is an investment in a storied craft tradition that has been refined over generations, representing a level of skill and cultural heritage that brings a quiet, sophisticated presence to any room.

This rug is carefully hand-knotted by skilled artisans, a process that requires immense patience and precision. Each individual knot is tied by hand, resulting in a robust structure that provides lasting durability and a consistently dense pile that holds its shape over time.

With a density of 250,000 knots per m2, the level of detail in the pattern is exceptionally sharp and defined. This high knot count represents hundreds of hours of focused human effort, ensuring that the rug is not only beautiful but also built to withstand the demands of daily use.

The use of high-quality materials for the foundation ensures the runner maintains its structure and integrity. The weight of 12.1 kg across its 389 x 78 cm dimensions serves as a testament to the generous amount of material used and the careful construction that defines this craft tradition.
