Nahavand rugs originate from the historic region of the same name in the Middle East, a town known for its long-standing tradition of weaving. These rugs are highly regarded for their rustic charm and the way they blend local artistic expressions with the practical needs of daily life.

The term hand-knotted refers to the traditional method where each strand of wool is tied by hand around the foundation threads. This creates a robust and resilient structure that is fundamentally different from modern manufacturing, resulting in a deeper, more lustrous appearance that improves with age.

Design-wise, Nahavand rugs are famous for their bold, geometric medallions and stylized floral motifs. They often feature a dark, moody field that makes the vibrant reds and creams of the patterns pop, creating a striking contrast that is both traditional and sophisticated.

Collectors value these rugs for their authenticity and the human story woven into every thread. Owning a Nahavand rug is an investment in cultural heritage, representing a skill set passed down through generations that remains a testament to the enduring appeal of traditional craftsmanship.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused effort to every single piece. The process involves tying thousands of individual knots, a technique that requires immense patience and precision to ensure the pattern is crisp and the pile is consistently dense.

With a total weight of 17.5 kg spread across its surface, this rug demonstrates a high level of material usage and structural integrity. This weight is a direct result of the dense knotting process, which provides the rug with its signature thickness and long-lasting durability.

The hand-knotted nature of the rug means that every inch has been carefully considered. This dedication to craft results in a sturdy, high-quality product that stands the test of time, far surpassing the construction standards of mass-produced alternatives.
