Kazak FineHand KnottedRug

Dark red / Dark blue103 x 147 cm

Kazak rugs find their historical roots in the Caucasus region, where they were traditionally woven by nomadic and village communities. Over time, these weaving traditions migrated, and today, some of the finest contemporary interpretations are crafted by skilled artisans in Afghanistan, keeping the regional heritage alive.

The visual language of Kazak rugs is characterised by bold, geometric medallions and striking tribal motifs. This particular piece features a vibrant blue central field, which is a beautiful variation from the more common red grounds, making it a distinctive example of the style.

Framed by multiple ornate borders with repeating diamond and geometric patterns, the design represents a structured and harmonious composition. These traditional motifs have been passed down through generations of weavers, each adding their own subtle variations.

Owning a Kazak rug means welcoming a piece of living history into your home. Highly valued by collectors and design enthusiasts alike, these rugs are appreciated for their expressive patterns, rich colour palettes, and lasting cultural significance.

This rug is entirely hand-knotted by skilled weavers in Afghanistan, representing a level of human effort and dedication that makes each piece a premium addition to your home.

Measuring 147 x 103 cm and weighing 4.5 kg, the rug features a dense and substantial wool construction. The weight and size reflect the generous amount of natural material used, resulting in a durable structure built to last.

Every knot is placed individually by hand, creating a strong and resilient pile. This traditional method ensures the pattern remains sharp and the rug maintains its shape and beauty through years of daily use.
