Being truly one of a kind, this piece possesses a unique character that cannot be replicated. When you choose this rug, you are acquiring a singular work of art, ensuring that your home features a decorative element that exists nowhere else in the world.

Beyond its visual appeal, the dense construction ensures that this rug remains a long-term companion in your home. It offers a smooth, comfortable surface that enhances the atmosphere of any room, balancing classic design with a modern, elevated aesthetic.

Kashmir rugs originate from the northernmost region of India, a place renowned for its long-standing tradition of fine textile production. This craft has evolved over centuries, heavily influenced by Middle Eastern weaving techniques brought to the region during the medieval period, which were then adapted to reflect the local flora and artistic sensibilities of the Himalayas.

The term 24/24 quality refers to a specific standard of knotting density and precision that is highly prized by collectors. This technical excellence ensures that the patterns are not only beautiful but also remarkably stable and well-defined, allowing for the creation of intricate, curvilinear designs that are difficult to execute in coarser weaves.

The design of this rug is anchored in the traditional floral imagery of Kashmir, often referred to as the 'Tree of Life' or 'Garden' style. These motifs, which frequently include birds and blossoms, are inspired by the lush landscapes of the Kashmir Valley. The sophisticated border and medallion composition seen here are hallmarks of the region's classic artistic output.

Owning a Kashmir silk rug is a significant investment in cultural heritage and artisanal skill. These pieces are highly valued for their ability to maintain their luster and pattern integrity for generations, serving as a bridge between historical craftsmanship and contemporary interior design.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused effort to bring the design to life. The creation process is defined by high-precision work, where each individual knot is tied by hand to ensure the pattern remains crisp, sharp, and durable over time.

With a density of 640,000 knots per m2, the rug features a level of detail and construction quality that only manual craft can achieve. This high knot count is essential for creating the intricate floral motifs and the smooth, resilient pile that defines this premium piece.

The substantial 7 kg weight of this 184 x 126 cm rug is a direct result of the high volume of material and the intensive labour required for its construction. This density not only contributes to its luxurious feel but also serves as a testament to the time and expertise invested in its making.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Silk

Silk is an exclusive natural fibre that provides a soft and shiny feeling to rugs. The material can also be used to enhance details in wool rugs and in some, silk can make up the entire pile and sometimes even the warp. Elegant rugs with rich details can only be made with silk because other fibres are too thick for this purpose. Silk is a durable and hard-wearing fibre that lasts a long time and becomes more beautiful over time. Due to its sensitivity to liquids, it is advisable to refrain from positioning the rug in areas where there is a high likelihood of moisture or potential spills.
