Design

The design is defined by its clean, linear aesthetic and warm, natural beige palette. The subtle ribbed pattern creates a gentle play of light and shadow across the surface, offering a minimalist look that complements a wide range of interior styles.

With its square shape and uniform texture, this rug provides a balanced and tidy appearance. Its organic, earthy hue acts as a perfect neutral base, allowing your furniture and decor to stand out while adding a touch of natural warmth to the room.

This rug is carefully hand-woven by skilled artisans in India, a process that requires both patience and precision. The craft involves manually interlacing natural Jute fibres, a method that ensures each piece has a unique character and a sturdy, well-constructed feel. The time and human effort invested in each rug are reflected in the tight, consistent weave that defines its structural integrity.

The process begins with preparing the cotton foundation, which provides the necessary support for the Jute fibres to be woven into their signature ribbed pattern. Because this is a handmade item, the rhythmic motion of the weaver is vital in maintaining the tension and alignment across the entire surface. This dedicated approach to production results in a durable final product that showcases the beauty of traditional techniques.

Creating a rug of this quality is a labour-intensive endeavour that can take several days to complete, depending on the size. Every movement of the loom is a testament to the artisan's expertise, ensuring that the finished rug is not only aesthetically pleasing but also built to withstand daily use. This focus on craft over mass production is what gives the rug its distinct, authentic personality.

90% Jute

Jute is a natural material that consists of a long, soft and shiny plant fibre that can be spun into coarse and strong threads. Jute rugs are known for their natural texture, which makes them durable and highly resistant to wear and tear. They also have a higher sound insulation effect than for example synthetic rugs. Jute rugs are a sustainable option since they can be recycled and are biodegradable. The material is sensitive to moisture, therefore jute rugs should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.

10% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Maintenance

To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
The rug can bleach or change colour if exposed to direct sunlight; therefore, it is important to avoid placing the rugs in direct sunlight.
The rugs are sensitive to moisture, therefore they should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.
Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this

Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
