Hosseinabad rugs originate from the Hamadan province in the Middle East, a region with a deep-rooted history of textile artistry. The area is celebrated for its ability to produce rugs that balance traditional tribal aesthetics with a refined, sophisticated sensibility that fits well in a variety of living spaces.

The rugs are often characterised by their sturdy construction, which typically utilises a robust wool pile. This choice of material is not merely for comfort but is a deliberate decision to ensure the longevity of the piece, allowing it to serve as a functional floor covering that ages gracefully over time.

Visually, Hosseinabad rugs are known for their repeating floral patterns and often feature a prominent central medallion or stylised botanical motifs. These designs are deeply connected to the local natural environment and the artistic heritage of the weavers, often utilising a warm, rich colour palette that centres on deep reds and earthy tones.

Collecting a rug from this tradition is an investment in cultural heritage and artisanal skill. These pieces are valued for their enduring quality and the human story woven into every knot, representing a connection to generations of weavers who have perfected their craft in the heart of the Middle East.

This runner is entirely hand-knotted, a traditional method that requires immense patience and precision. Skilled artisans spend hundreds of hours carefully looping each individual strand of wool onto the foundation, ensuring that every detail of the intricate pattern is captured with clarity and strength.

With a density of 160,000 knots per m2, the construction of this runner is exceptionally robust. This high knot count translates into a firmer, more resilient pile that retains its shape and density over time, while also allowing for the fine definition of the floral motifs that define its classic look.

Weighing 66.5 kg, this runner demonstrates the substantial amount of high-quality material used in its creation. This weight is a testament to the density of the wool and the solidity of the hand-knotted foundation, ensuring a heavy, stable piece that lies flat and holds its position beautifully on your floor.
