The Beluch rugs originate from the nomadic tribes living across the border regions of the Middle East. These tribes have a long history of weaving, creating textiles that were traditionally designed to be portable and functional, serving as floor coverings, tent bags, and blankets during their migrations.

The term 'Beluch' refers to the tribal heritage of the weavers rather than a specific city. Their craft is characterised by a deep connection to their environment, often using Wool sourced from their own flocks. This results in a product that is authentic and deeply tied to the lifestyle of the people who created it.

Visually, these rugs are known for their rich, earthy palettes and intricate geometric or pictorial motifs. You will often find symbols representing animals, plants, or tribal identity woven into the field. This specific rug showcases a beautiful arrangement of stylised birds and symbolic shapes, reflecting the artistic language developed by these tribes over generations.

Collecting a Beluch rug is an opportunity to own a piece of cultural history. These rugs are highly valued for their individuality and the skill required to produce them. By bringing one into your home, you are preserving a legacy of nomadic artistry that continues to be celebrated for its soul and lasting quality.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months to the process. Each knot is placed individually by hand, a method that requires immense patience and precision to ensure the pattern remains sharp and the pile is consistently dense.

With a weight of 3.5 kg for this size, the rug demonstrates a solid construction and high material density. This weight is a testament to the amount of Wool used and the careful, time-intensive effort required to create a textile of this durability and structural integrity.
