80 x 300 rugs: Make narrow spaces feel complete

A runner rug this size solves a specific problem: a full-size rug won’t fit a long, narrow stretch of floor, but leaving it bare feels cold underfoot and shows every scuff. A 80 x 300 rug can cover the length of a hallway between the front door and the stairs or along a corridor, taking the wear where feet cross it most and softening the sound of footsteps on hard flooring. The same shape works just as well laid beside a bed instead of a full bedroom rug, or along a run of kitchen units so you’re not standing on bare tile. With patterns that range from traditional to modern, and colours that blend or stand out, they help turn a narrow gap into something worth noticing.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, 80 x 300 runners are ideal for narrow corridors and long entryways. The 80 cm width allows the rug to sit comfortably without curling up at the edges, while the 300 cm length runs the full stretch of most standard corridors.

80 x 300 runners are often used in hallways and corridors, but the same narrow, long shape also works well running alongside a bed, in front of a run of kitchen units, or down a galley-style dining space.

At Rugvista, our 80 x 300 cm rugs come in a range of popular colours, from neutral whites and greys to bold blues and pinks, as well as a variety of patterns and styles. From soft-touch finishes to low-pile designs that fit under doors, there’s something for every kind of space

Wool lies flat, resists stains and holds up well to daily footsteps, making it a popular choice for a busy hallway. Polypropylene runners in 80 x 300 are a budget-friendly, low-maintenance alternative – easy to maintain and hard-wearing, though less breathable than a natural fibre. Silk options have a fine sheen and soft feel but mark and wear more easily, so they suit a low-traffic spot such as outside a bedroom rather than a main thoroughfare. Cotton and jute pieces are lighter still and better kept to lower-traffic areas too.
